Our Rebuilding Process
What Goes Into a Kar King Rebuilt Engine
Each application can differ, but the rebuilding process includes detailed inspection, machining, replacement of worn components and assembly to precise specifications.
Cleaning and Inspection
Blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts and camshafts are thermally or chemically cleaned and inspected for damage and cracks.
Precision Machining
Crankshafts are ground and micro-polished. Cylinders are bored and honed, connecting rods are inspected, and block surfaces are machined when required.
Cylinder Head Work
Cylinder heads are pressure tested, checked for cracks, machined and resurfaced. Rocker assemblies are replaced or remanufactured as the application requires.
New Internal Components
Rebuilt engines receive replacement bearings, pistons, wrist pins, rings, timing parts, freeze plugs, oil pump, gaskets and seals as required.
Final Assembly
Components are assembled to precise original-equipment specifications with attention to fit, clearances and application requirements.
